<p>If you don&#8217;t know how to make diet shakes, no problem. The principle is simple and will explain it here.</p>
<p>Usually a shake contain fresh fruits, at your choice or in a specific combination and quantity, ice-cream and/or milk, and sometimes sugar. They all get into a food processor and come out as a delicious shake.</p>
<p>To make a diet shake you need to remove the sugar, thus compensating with more sweet fruits, replace the ice-cream with ice, and maybe remove the milk, but this is an optional step. Is possible to just use skim milk or if you like, coconut milk. No whipped cream!</p>
<p>The combinations of fruits are important. Banana goes with almost everything, and is nutritive. Strawberry, raspberries and blueberries are excellent antioxidants and high in fiber. Peaches, oranges, mango will give an exotic taste to your diet shake.</p>
<p>How to improve the taste and the quality of a shake?</p>
<ul>
<li>add plain fat-free yoghurt, it will make a great probiotic breakfast.</li>
<li>add baking cocoa and vanilla extract, together with skim milk and you will have a healthy chocolate shake.</li>
<li>add whole grain cereals and honey for another excellent breakfast.</li>
<li>add small quantities of nuts, almonds or peanuts for a greater taste.</li>
<li>a drop of mint can make a lot of difference.</li>
<li>combine and try new ideas, is more fun than just following a recipe.</li>
</ul>
<p>A last word of warning: there are people who recommend shakes as full meal, with the option to add protein powders of some sort. There are diets based on regular consume of shakes. Is <strong>not</strong> my recommendation. I would consume diet shakes as a dessert, or instead a snack in the afternoon. If is correctly balanced, with yoghurt and cereals, it can replace a breakfast, but no more than that. Don&#8217;t starve yourself. Remember, the faster you lose weight, the faster you will gain it back. Nourish your body and he will reward you with a healthy balanced weight loss.</p>

<p>But don&#8217;t just dance how you are used to, or simple movements moving from one foot to another. Pick some new funny, exciting dance and try to learn it. Go to Youtube, there are tons of new funny dancing videos, try a movie  (i just love &#8220;Happy Feet&#8221;, but i never manage to keep up with them) or even  a superstar videoclip (why not?) You will burn a lot of calories without noticing, have fun and feel so much better after that!</p>
<p>If you cannot dance alone than take dance classes or join a dance studio. Than practice at home what you&#8217;ve learned there. Watch &#8220;Shall we dance&#8221; movie for inspiration.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #800000;">2. SWIM</span></h3>
<p>Do you remember how after going to beach you feel so hungry and tired? Spending time in water is a great form of physical activity that put all your muscles to work. Swimming is the ideal activity for many who can no longer bear the high impact and joint stress of running or jogging. If you have a swimming club near to you or a pool, or even better, a beach, give it a try. You don&#8217;t have to be a  professional swimmer or to force yourself too much. Play with a ball, play pool games, try different swimming styles at your own pace, or just spend time in water, at least one hour a week. Is fun, is pleasant and helps you burn some fat.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #800000;">3. JUMPING ON A TRAMPOLINE</span></h3>
<p>Just take care, it can be addictive!</p>

I was shocked. As someone that has struggled with my own weight, I was initially thrilled to be working in an environment where I would be helping others achieve their weight loss goals. I began to realize that the owners were less concerned about helping people than making a profit at almost ANY COST. After holding this position for only a couple of months, I was beginning to look for a new job when thankfully, my husband’s company required that we relocate cross-country. Aware that many of the LA Weightloss Centers were franchises, I was still naive enough to think that my experience at the Florida center had been negative because of the owners. I sought out employment at an LA Weightloss in our new city/state and felt reassured to find that this franchise was owned by an actual Physician (had to be credible, right?!). WRONG!! I ended up working for the new franchise for not even a month and a half and due to their inappropriate sales tactics and “they cry, they buy” motto, ended up walking out in the middle of a shift because I COULDN’T SLEEP AT NIGHT and refused to encourage my employees to take advantage of potential and current clients. I find it hard to believe that your upper management was any different. After working in the two different markets and hearing similar stories from other center managers, it was obvious to me that the core of the company was rotten. Even so, it’s wrong for you to take the stand that YOU alone are “hurt”. Alot of innocent people were basically exploited, and if you were in the business for the right reasons, you would be more sympathetic. I regret the day I ever worked for them and feel for anyone that was ever a client. In a nutshell, yes the basic program works. I myself lost 36 pounds on it. There was no need for the shady “tactics” used and they could have had an honest business and been very successful at it. Instead they turned it into a negative experience for so many people because of one word:<br />

<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>There are boulangeries everywhere, bakeries, yet you rarely see people go into a bakery, and then walk on the streets eating their bagful of pastries. In fact one day I bought a pastry and thought I&#8217;d stroll and shop while eating. I felt everyone was looking at me and judging me for daring to eat while walking around.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>While the regimen surrounding food can be irritating, it cannot be denied that it help &#8220;regulate&#8221; what you do in regards to food.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>Great cheese is everywhere. The first time we went to a formal dinner in France it was for about 10 people. After dinner before dessert comes the cheese. 2 small rounds of cheese. I thought, this is going to be interesting, it is not enough. Yes they eat cheese but just a small amount to give the taste and that is it. This I have witnessed over and over, just a bit of cheese.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>How many times I had been to dinners in the US when we were served excellent cheeses AND for 6 people there were like 8 different cheeses to choose from and people cut generous portions and had seconds and thirds.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>It is a combination of portion size, exercise, and attitude toward food.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>It&#8217;s not that France is a panacea, it is that I live here so I can talk accurately about it.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>Go to a brasserie or cafe in the late afternoon, say 4:30. Often you couldn&#8217;t order food even if you wanted it. They serve 12-2 and after 6 for dinner. Of course there are exceptions but think of what impact that has when you grow up. There are times when you should eat and there are times when you shouldn&#8217;t. In the US you can get food, good or bad quality, any time you&#8217;d like it with relative ease.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>I teach English at an engineering graduate school here in Toulouse. Yesterday I met a few students for a coffee in the afternoon, 3:30. I was getting hungry and I knew I wasn&#8217;t going to be home to eat dinner until 8PM or later. I wanted to buy a yogurt at the cafe. The students all asked me, is it common to eat at this time in the US? I said I don&#8217;t know but I am hungry, they looked unconvinced.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>I asked them what they would do if they were hungry, they thought that was funny, who would be hungry at this hour, at 2 you just finished your biggest meal f the day, how could anyone be hungry at this hour. They often weren&#8217;t hungry until later at night.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>I could go on and on but of course it would not be that interesting. Living here has made me acutely aware of the fact that I never thought there was a time and place for food, eating, and food ritual. Now that I have a food ritual I have lost weight.</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000080;"><em>That and the small elevators in apartment buildings. Our building says it holds 4 people but really 2 is the space limit. Then get this, it says 4 people 275 kilos, that&#8217;s 70 kilos a person, not entirely unreasonable but it is easy to get 4 people together in the US and all of then weigh more than 70 kilos.</em></span></p>
